La musica andalusa e il Maghreb
La diretta conseguenza della tramandazione orale del periodo Arabo-andaluso si trova negli stati del Maghreb più prossimi all’Andalucia. Il genere classico Andaluso si esprime in diversi stili, tra gli stati del Maghreb. Generi vocali (dal Marocco alla Libia) imperniati sugli antichi poemi Arabi del periodo di Al-Andalus. “Muwashahat” e “Zajal”.
Le orchestre andaluse oggi sono composte da differenti sturmenti, antichi e moderni: oud, violino, flauti dolci. tamburi a cornice, darabouka, qraqeb.
Le Nubat marocchine della tradizione Al-Ala
Tra i differenti stili andalusi, quello considerato più antico è certamente quello marocchino. La diretta discendente delle scuole arabo-andaluse medievali è certamente la tradizione “Al-Ala” marocchina.
La forma musicale tipica della tradizione Al-Ala è una suite denominata “Nuba”. Le nubat sono una raccolta di brani vocali corali, racchiusi per gruppi. Questa forma suite è caratterizzata da cinque movimenti principali (Mizan).

Ogni mizan dunque è una raccolta di circa venti canzoni (sana’i) in conformità di andamento, tempo e modo musicale, preceduto da un preludio strumentale (twichia).
Ogni nuba è imperniata su un particolare modo musicale (taba’i) della scuola andalusa. L’antica tradizione di Ziryab comprendeva 24 modi, uno per ogni ora del giorno. La tradizione marocchina conserva solo 11 modi.
Anticamente le Nubat potevano durare diverse ore (fino a sette ore). La nuba marocchina moderna viene eseguita per intero raramente ed ha una durata di circa due ore.
I testi delle nubat sono tratti dagli antichi poemi arabi di Al-Andalus, i “Muwashahat”. Questi poemi antichi hanno un valore religioso e gli stessi canti possono essere intonati sia nella musica classica andalusa che nei rituali religiosi.
Esistono oggi differenti orchestre andaluse operanti nel Maghreb, dal Marocco sino alla Libia.
